Apartment Art

this is the first creation completed in 2011. some new art for the apartment. what do we have here? some amazing yarn from purl soho- only the most amazing craft store known to new york city folks, and some neon orange (amaazzzing) paint. this is going right above my bed. what inspires me? shiny things- also known as glitter, quirky ladies- can we say edie beale? fun music- currently listening to all things miike snow, neon colored things and thank goodness this yarn has bits of this and all things feminine. on sort of a different track but similar subject this past week i went to one of the best places on earth- the metropolitan museum of art and saw "between here and there: passages in contemporary photography" which was so beautiful and refreshing= a must see!

unfortunately i'm back at work and cannot spend everyday at the museums but fortantely i can create everyday since i'm a designer :).. what have you created lately?

Pee Wee Herman

ahhhh!!! it's pee wee herman. last night i went to go see the pee- wee herman show at the stephen sondheim theatre. paul reubens and cast took my back to my childhood as tears of laughter fell down my face- it was filled with jokes about pop culture including an entire skit dedicated to 'bump its' now that was amazing! - unfortunately tonight was the last night it played. tear tear (now these are sad tears) but nonetheless this was a great way to end the holiday season...what did you all do this weekend? i hope some laughs were involved

Say Hello

as my first post it makes complete sense to talk about the most influential thing to moi. creative women. i’m almost done with blow by blow by detmar blow with tom sykes. it’s quite a page turner and while it’s so cold and slushy outside the only thing i can think about it getting cozy with some home made hot chocolate and an amazing book.. what more can you ask for in a book- luxe parties, love affairs, emotional turmoil, gossip, history, fabulous accessories and amazing wit. recommend! what have you been reading? share!
